Howdy CrackBerry nation! What a busy week it has been. It's only been a little over a week since the launch of the BlackBerry Passport? How many of you were one of the 200,000 lucky individuals to get your hands on one? If you haven't already, be sure to check out Kevin's editorial on his experiences with the device as well how instant actions, among other features, made email triage faster than iOS and Android.

Now it is time to bring you this week's picks for all your passionate BlackBerry addicts out there. You can find each app and game by clicking through the gallery below. If your favorite did not make the cut this week, remember you can help by offering your suggestions at the end.

Owl Always Love You by Themerzz

Now that the fall season is upon us, there is no better time to liven up your display then with a brand new theme. This lovely and colorful creation is skinned from top to bottom so that no detail is left untouched. The first thing you see is the wallpaper that showcases not only the bright colors that grace every menu and screen but how those adorable owls are the center of attention. Throughout all of the menus, popup and dialog boxes, and banner bars are the beautiful purple color combinations. Rounding out this theme are the custom icons, fonts, battery and signal meters, and redesigned message and notifications and indicators. It certainly does stand out on your BlackBerry display. For those of you who own a BBOS device, this delightful creation can be purchased for $0.99 and is compatible for most legacy devices.

Audio Cutter-MP3+WAV Creator+Cutter by Smomn

When I'm not at work (where I keep my phone on silent) I still assign ringtones for each of my friends and family so I always know who is calling. While this may be old fashioned, for those of you who want to create your own ringtones this application is here to help you out. Using your existing MP3 and WAV files you can edit the recording to generate your own audio files. Once the files are cropped you can save, share, or play. The application is quick and easy to use and is $1.99 to download for BlackBerry 10.

BP Monitor by bsmInnovation.com

Our next selection this week came via a Twitter request. Now I am no stranger to medical applications, having downloaded quite a few to assist my Mother with her diabetes and heart condition. For me, these applications should not be used in lieu of seeing a doctor or going to a hospital. However, if you are seeking to maintain or just to keep track of your blood pressure to provide to medical professionals then this tracker will come in handy. This Built for BlackBerry application offers an intuitive native experience to help you track blood pressure, heart rate, weight, height, BMI, date/time and notes on a daily basis. In addition, data may be exported as a CSV file to send to your PC or to your doctor via email. There is also a graphing option to view your blood pressure distribution and a means to compute meaningful statistics of your values. I think the charting features are quite useful and the app runs smooth. Again, we all could use a way to monitor our health and this application gets the job done for $1.99.

ColorBrix by Elixir LLC

Nothing beats a good puzzle game, especially when it is as colorful as this one. This game is quite unique in both its concept and execution. Dubbed as being similar to Tetris, you have to manipulate each of the different colored boxes on the screen, usually various shades of the same scheme, until you match them up in a full row. For example, when lighter shades are combined they turn in the darker shades, which not only helps you complete a row but makes things more difficult in the process. Think you can figure it out to obtain the highest score? As a test of your visual and strategy skills, this will keep you occupied for quite some time. The developer stated in the forums that for now it is only available Android and Amazon stores. However, if they receive enough downloads will launch a native version for BlackBerry 10 as well. Come on BlackBerry nation, this game is free to download and is very enjoyable.

Color LED – Notification Manager by X-Reve

here is nothing like seeing the blinking red light on your BlackBerry to distract you from whatever you are doing. It is one of the reasons we fell in love with the brand to begin with. That addicting light makes us stop whatever we are doing to answer whatever message or notification may pop up. That is why we always love customizing this option. While LED apps are no stranger to the storefront, I came across this one in the forums. As with the others, it allows you to create your own custom LED notifications for various native apps and phone calls as well as select third party programs. Not only can you choose a specific color for your contacts, but for incoming calls, missed calls, text, PIN, and BBM messages, and social networking apps such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. The interface is user-friendly and the settings are rather self-explanatory. This B4B application is $2.99 and compatible with all BlackBerry 10 devices.

Also, there is still time to enter the win a BlackBerry Passport from Rogers and CrackBerry contest so be sure to do so before the deadline. 3D-Tic-Tac-Toe by Mario Beaulieu

Looking for a new twist on a classic game? This seemingly innocent game is probably the most challenging version of Tic Tac Toe I have played in a long time. Unlike the flat counterpart, it is played on a 4x4x4 cube. Not only does this make for some amazing gameplay but you have to build your 3D mental representation of the object in order align four balls of your color in any row, column, or diagonal on the board. To help in this task you can rotate and zoom in the cube and point to the position where you want to play. Doesn't matter though, as it still is hard to line up four in a row. The free version allows you to play against the computer, has a fixed difficulty level, allows you to choose who starts. The full version, which is not yet available, will allow you to turn on gyro mode (move the device around the cube for a better view), enable view of the last shot played, play against another human, and select a difficulty level. This polished game is available for BlackBerry 10.

Call and SMS Blocker by Simply Apps

Our next selection is courtesy of a suggestion by a fellow reader. With the arrival of OS 10.3 on the BlackBerry Passport, the ability for applications to block specific numbers using the Caller ID number is now possible as the API was opened up to developers. For those who wish to control who can or cannot contact you then this headless application is an option. Call and SMS Blocker allows you to create different profiles (i.e. Block All, Accept Phonebook only and Block Private Number), create contacts in a Blacklist that overrides the profiles to block any contact. There is also a whitelist where you can enter contacts to allow through. You can purchase this application for $.99. While it states compatibility with all BlackBerry 10 handsets, please be aware the functionality will only work on OS 10.3 and higher.

Howdy CrackBerry nation! Another week has come a close here on the blogs and I must say it has been a pretty great one. Not only will James be hanging out at the Mercedes AMG Petronas and presented us with his top ten game choices for the Passport, but we saw a few more awesome pictures of the not yet released BlackBerry Classic. In case you missed it, be sure to take the State of the Mobile Nations phones survey for a chance at $600 for a new phone.

Now it is time to bring you this week's picks for all your passionate BlackBerry addicts out there. You can find each app and game by clicking through the gallery below. If your favorite did not make the cut this week, remember you can help by offering your suggestions at the end.

LockBook by Yogesh Chaube

Over the years we have discussed quite a few applications that aimed to keep certain contacts private and hidden from view. LockBook is along the same vein whose primary purpose is to password protect your contacts from prying eyes. The application is independent of the contacts application. Therefore, any and all contacts must be inputted again directly into the application. I'm not one to tell you how to organize your contacts but if you do happen to have a few that should be kept private then this application gets that job done. Available for BlackBerry 10, except the Passport, you can find this application for free at the link.

Sachesi by Sacha Refshauge

New to the storefront this week is an application from programmer behind the firmware application we all know and love by the same name, Sachesi. While the desktop utility offers the full set of firmware features for installing or uninstalling firmware and backups, this one is for your BlackBerry. As of now, it allows for convenient searching of applications, including those not available for certain variants. Users may download the bar file and sideload them. There is also a search feature to search by carrier, country, and device for operating systems and to grab the links. This application is compatible with all BlackBerry 10 devices for $1.99.

HappyBee by cutieberry themes

Ziplist by ZipList, Inc.

As you can plainly tell by reading this roundup week after week, I tend to mention quite a few productivity apps that aim to keep a person organized. Whether this shows how scatterbrained I tend to be or I just want to ensure we are getting the most out of our devices you be the judge. Ziplist is an online grocery list that syncs across multiple platforms, to share with family and friends, group items by aisle, add tags to organize items, add recipe ingredients to your shopping list, sort by store, and view all of your recipes on the go. While lists and recipes are synced with your online site, that does not prohibit you from using it as a stand-alone application. You can download it for free in the Amazon Appstore.

Ball Bash Box by Martin Cietwierkowski

Nothing beats having a great native game to get lost in. This 2D action physics game is simple yet enjoyable. Your job is to defend a rickety base and protect the boxes from being destroyed by incoming cannonball fire. To accomplish this you have to swipe and slice your way through the cannons similar to Fruit Ninja. Currently, there are 3 worlds and 27 levels to beat, a variety of enemies with different abilities, and the option to earn stars and high scores. Ball Bash Box is fun, comes with cute graphics and music, is easy to play, and is a great way to pass the time. It supports all BlackBerry 10 handsets and is $0.99 to buy.

Multi Breaker: Brick Breaker by Chaos Interactive

As a BlackBerry owner for many years, if there is one game I am familiar with it is Brick Breaker. That ever popular game came preinstalled on most legacy devices and the cause of countless hours of non-productivity. BlackBerry World has countless variants on this classic game but none so original as this one. What this game provides is the ability for you to play against a computer or human opponent. Therefore, your goal is to break bricks faster than your opponent. There are two game modes, five different missions, seven packs of colorful worlds, and a cool 80's soundtrack. If you are a fan you certainly can't go wrong with this addictive version. The graphics are decent, gameplay is smooth, and it is free for all BlackBerry 10 devices as well as the BlackBerry PlayBook.

Howdy CrackBerry nation! Another week has just flown by and it has been a busy one indeed. Now it is time to bring you this week's picks for all your passionate BlackBerry addicts out there. You can find each app and game I've rustled up for you by clicking through the gallery below. If your favorite did not make the cut this week, remember you can help by offering your suggestions at the end.

Rumminy by Heris IT

First up this week is a new take on the classic Rummy or ginrummy card game. Rumminy is an online multiplayer game where you can compete against a friend, find a player, or against a random opponent. The objecto f the game is to dispose of all of the times in your hand. These combinations may consist of tiles of three or four successive numbers of the same color or three or four pieces of the same number but different colors. The game itself is quite fun as you try to figure out your next move. There is also a chat option for speaking with your opponents. The features I would like to see is being able to delete an invite for non responsive players and end a game. Rumminy is free to download for BlackBerry 10.

Previously available for BBOS, the developer released this Android port to secure your personal and financial information. This includes credit card information, passwords, bank accounts, health information, and even security verification questions. Email Organizer by NandkumarRS

Back in my BBOS days, I used to be able to set filter rules on BIS to organize and automatically sort emails. To fill in the gap on BlackBerry 10 is Email Organizer. It allows you to create rules for your email accounts on your device rather than on the server. All you have to do is create the rule and leave it running in the background (it is not headless). Setting up each of your rules is easy. Simply choose the email address from the dropdown list, select the folder you wish to send the message to, and pick which contact(s) you would like the rule to apply to on incoming email messages. Once those options are set, tap on save and agree to run the rule and that is it. All emails from those individuals will be automatically filed according to your selection. In addition, rules may be edited and deleted. For $0.99 this is a useful feature to organize your emails.

With these icons you can manipulate the position of your other icons into different arrangements to create your own patterns, show off your backgrounds, or design your own unique icon placements. CutePress by ShowStopper

For those of you who maintain WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress blogs, this handy little application was released to aid in updating them quickly and easily. From the developer that brought you FastPress, CutePress offers the ability to write/edit pages or posts, add/delete post categories, manage comments, and let you embed or upload images or files. In order to function properly you will have to enable XML-RPC from the admin end (Dashboard->Settings->Writing->Remote Publishing and check XML-RPC) as it is based upon this protocol to support both types of blogs. This application is available for BlackBerry 10 but does not yet support the BlackBerry Passport.

PhoneAbuser by Roger Leblanc

Next up on our list is an application that answers that age old question "how much time do you spend on your phone?" We all know we are addicts but are we really aware of how long we pick up our device and ignore everything and anyone around us. The interface is not complicated at all. It merely shows the day of the week and the counter showing how much time you've logged in. In terms of settings you can adjust the font size of the app as well as the active frame. PhoneAbuser is free to download for BlackBerry 10.

Handrite Notes Notepad Lite by Ben Lee

As the self-proclaimed post-it note queen in college, I can't help but be drawn to any and all applications that offer a similar experience. This intuitive handwriting application serves as your sticky note, to-do list, memo pad and journal. Geared towards those who need to capture thoughts, and ideas quickly it allows users to not only enter in their notes with the keypad but by capturing your strokes as well on the touchscreen. It doesn't purport to identify your exact handwriting but captures the strokes as you draw them. The result is a unique way of displaying your words, symbols, numbers, or anything else you wish to enter. Features include being able to insert pictures, change the font color or paper style, customizable pen styles, set labels, and save/export notes. This is the free version of the application and does contain ads on the main screen though not in the note itself.

Fun Football Tournament by UBJ3D

Going through the forums I spied this new soccer game for touch only devices (sorry folks no Passport either). While it is an Android Port, Fun Football Tournament runs quick with no lag and comes with decent graphics and sounds. In terms of gameplay, the game itself is turn-based, which means that each player has ten seconds per turn, you control one footballer at a time (the one nearest the ball), and each one has four unique characteristics. Players can kick and dribble the ball, choose between two game modes, Friendly game and Tournament, and set various options. These include up to 8 human players, group stage, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the final, select from among 48 national teams with real FIFA ranking systems, choose from three difficulty levels, and change the playing field (sunny, rain, snow, and indoor). It's an interesting game that you can download for free, though it does contain ads.

Space Ball Evolution Free by Dimensions Entertainment

Searching for a challenging game that requires skill and dexterity? This game certainly boasts an amazing concept that will keep you occupied for hours. The adventure is comprised of four worlds, with six levels each, of 3D fun. It's a little tricky on how to explain how it works, but I like to think of it as a 3D space version of the wooden labyrinth game where you have to guide your ball through the course without succumbing to the various obstacles or falling off the edges. Not only does this entertain but can be frustrating at times. Space Ball Evolution is available for the Z10, Z3, and Z30. With only three lives per game you won't be able to put it down as you'll be trying to get things right.

Moka Reader by MokaWelt

As an avid reader, I can never pass up an ebook application. Moka Reader is the latest native option to hit the storefront. It includes support for several formats including DRM free ePub, Mobi (mobi/prc/azw/azw3, no DRM), Text, CHM, UMD (text/comic), Comic (cbr, cbz, cb7), FB2 (FBZ), and HTML ebooks. The main features include keyboard shortcuts, an easy to use and navigate interface, pinch gestures to zoom in and out, and access to the Table of Contents. While it supports all BlackBerry 10, the only downside for some may be the price. Currently, Moka Reader is $6.99 to purchase though it is a feature filled application. I always tend to read on the train to and from work and there is nothing wrong with having different options to read on your BlackBerry.

Let's Crash by Birla Games

If you are searching for a fun and free game that will keep you on your toes then be sure to check this out. This frustratingly good game has one goal, and that is to control traffic in all directions to prevent the cars and trucks from crashing into each other. Sounds easy right? It actually isn't. Just when you think you have it under control all the roads fill up with vehicles. In order to prevent a crash you simply tape on a vehicle to make it go faster and wrong clicks only end the game sooner. It offers clean and simple graphics and is quite challenging when the roads start filling up. It is a great time waster for anyone with a moment to spare. Let's Crash is only available for the BlackBerry Passport, the Z10, Z3 and Z30 and is free to download.

Magic Chess 3D by Academ Media

Going through the Amazon Appstore this week, I came across this free and unusual 3D chess game. This game presents your game no a 3D chess board with pieces that resemble people and animals from medieval times. There is a built-in timer, the ability to move the board and see the pieces from a different perspective, and undo your last move. This is the free version the developer offers that has ads but they didn't distract from being able to play the game. If you are looking for a quick game of chess throughout the day it has decent graphics and presents you with all available moves when you tap on a piece as a tutorial of sorts.

FoldertoPlaylist by DVN Digital

Music Lovers looking to sort their collections by folders on their SD or device rather than by playlist should give this application a try. This simple and useful tool generates playlists for all of your music folders include those located in sub-folders. You may choose where to save these playlists and they are automatically updated in the native application for easy listening. Both the free and the premium version for BlackBerry 10 offer a pleasant interface and the option to choose which folders to process and where to create playlists. As expected, the free version does have some limitations. For instance, it limits you to 20 files per playlist and lacks advanced features. These additional features, available in the paid version for $0.99 (it is currently on sale 50% off), include sorting your playlists using file name or date, and using a whitelist or blacklist to choose what is added to the playlists.

Once you've installed the application on both your PC and device it's as simple as entering in the TeamViewer ID and password that appears on your computer's screen in the application. Now the versions on both need to be the same so be sure to run a check for updates on your PC to make sure you're running th latest. The MAC version may not be up to date as of yet. Once that is done you'll be able to control your computer remotely. Once you're connected your entire desktop is displayed on your device. There is a brief tutorial on how to move the mouse but you can open and close applications, type within applications (full keyboard functionality), and transfer files in both directions. Basically, you could control the computer remotely as if you were sitting right in front of it. It offers 256 Bit AES Encryption coding and is available for all BlackBerry 10 devices.

While this application is not necessarily new to other platforms, there is no denying that we sometimes need a little help with song lyrics. After downloading, it scans for music you have saved on your device or SD card. The application itself can identify millions of songs and lyrics in minutes including music titles, artists, and discography. Using the clean and bright interface you can easily setup playlists and listen to your tunes all while seeing the lyrics scroll across the screen. In addition, if you hear a song on the radio or on TV and need to know the name, artist or even the lyrics you can hold it up, tap the button, and it will identify it using their MusicID. musiXmatch offers a smooth interface, lyrics that are in perfect sync with the music, and even has the capability to remove the song's vocals so that you can sing along if supported. LATASY Music Player by HA Corp

The BlackBerry OS may come with its own media player, but that doesn't mean you can't explore other options for listening to your library. The design for Latasy is intended to be simplistic so that you have a clean and eye pleasing experience. There are several background themes to choose from, and it has all of the basic functions of the default application and more. It allows you to manage and listen to music by folder, create playlists, automatically stop your music with a sleep timer, sleep timer to automatically stop your music, shake your device to control playback as well as control the sensitivity, and employs gesture controls for swiping between songs and screens. Another added feature that is not available in the native application is that it downloads and displays the lyrics if available, for the currently playing tune. The only thing you need to be aware of is that if you add more songs to your device you will need to tap on the reindex option by swiping down so that it appears. There are two versions of this app, a full version for all BlackBerry 10 devices for $1.99, and a free limited version that is compatible with all devices save for the BlackBerry Passport.

Triangles by anpho

As someone who used to be a diehard theme fanatic, I have now become obsessed with discovering new wallpapers for my BlackBerry. This latest application from anpho is actually quite unique in how it generates backgrounds. It creates simple and beautiful triangle, or low-poly, wallpapers for to download. What makes this different, is that users can customize the cell size and cell padding (distance between each point) for each one generated. Basically, you are creating an entirely new design every time the generate button is tapped. The resulting high-quality polygonal backgrounds and textures are certainly eye-pleasing and with each modification you never quite know what you are going to get. You can find it for $0.99 for all BlackBerry 10 devices.

WebReader RSS Reader by Soft Artists Ltd.

We previously took a look at Web Reader for the BlackBerry PlayBook, and now I had a chance to look at the version released for BlackBerry 10. Users are notified whenever new articles are available, secure authorization with several sites including Google, Facebook, and Twitter, new article preview, subscribe to any news source or RSS feed, and share via Facebook, Twitter, and email. WebReader is available for free from BlackBerry World.

TwoDots by Playdots, Inc.

Sometimes nothing beats a minimalistic game to keep you occupied for long periods of time. The concept behind this cross-platform puzzle game, that is the sequel to the popular Dots game, is quite simple. All players must do to advance is simply connect the dots. However, executing that task is not as easy as you think as there are challenges and obstacles to overcome. You accomplish this goal by swiping across the board connecting one dot to another of the same color to remove them from the board. To clear each level, players must collect a certain number of colors in the designated amount of moves. The game itself presents a clean and simply visual style. It is fashioned similar to Candy Crush in that players start the game off with a total of five lives that refill every 20 minutes. Though there are in-app purchases to extend the game. When you need a quick and frustrating game to pass the time, TwoDots can be downloaded for free from the Amazon Appstore.

Nostalgia by Marco Gallo

This week we brought you a game that evoked memories of pasting gaming systems. While Nostalgia as of now has nine levels that make up Chapter One, the levels are a fun gateway to your childhood. As an 8-bit version of Brick Breaker, each level is inspired by a famous consoles or retro. What this means is that they are depicted in the blocks that you need to smash with your paddle and ball. Upon completion of a board, the information pertaining to that particular retro gaming system is shown so that the game not only entertains but educates as well. Fun for all ages, I simply love this new twist on the classic game. So what are you waiting for?

Contact Care by NandkumarRS

After switching back and forth amongst several devices I realized that not all of my contacts followed and some were lost in the shuffle. Being able to manage your contacts is important and that is why we all could use the ability to backup, restore, export, import, and merge them. While the interface is quite simple, you really do not need to jump through complicated menus just to organize your address book. The main screen shows the total number of contacts on your device as well as how many had been backup up. Simply tap on the menu and choose the desired function to perform. Backups may be saved to your device, SD Card, or to Dropbox and users may select to perform a full or custom backup in a matter of moments. Files are exported in CSV format or as a single vCard 3.0. For those, like me, who struggle with duplicates simply tap on the merge button to have it discover them by name, number, or email. The app is $0.99 to purchase for BlackBerry 10.

Bonza Word Puzzle by MiniMega

As someone who is fan of a variety of word games, I had to check this one out from the Amazon Appstore. This is not your everyday crossword puzzle though. It is combination word search, jigsaw puzzle, and trivia knowledge all rolled together in one interesting game. The object of the game is simple; you are presented with a few jigsaw puzzle pieces that are comprised of letters. Your goal is to form words that match the clue(s) you are presented with at the top of the game. For instance, if your clue is cutlery then you have to move the pieces to spell out knife, fork, and spoon. In the beginning the puzzles are quite easy though they become more challenging as you progress. There are several packs included in this game to work your way through first or the free puzzle of the day before moving on to the paid puzzle packs. It's fun, quick and a good way to pass the time.

Howdy CrackBerry nation! Not only is this the end of the week but it's also early into a brand new month. Phone Tag by Toysoft Development

Over the years, I'm sure we all accumulated a vast array of phone numbers in our contact list. Some of these numbers we use on a regular basis while others are ones we only use every now and again. For business users who prefer not to clutter up their address book or wish to keep their personal work contacts separate there is this simple and effective productivity tool. It allows users the ability to tag calls, essentially separating them from the contacts application, but still granting them the option to call, text, and email them later. For instance, if you send or receive a call to an unknown number you can tag and save the contact within the application, including email address). From here, you can leave the contact in the application or have the choice of saving to the contacts application. There are additional options including a backup or restore and integration with BlackBerry Maps and Google Maps. If there are contacts who you do not wish to add to your address book but still wish to communicate with then this comes in handy for $1.99 for BlackBerry 10.

I have to say this is a promising start by the developer who is working on incorporating Feedly, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Hub Integration and Notifications into the application. For now, Gazzet is a native application that is beautiful laid out with animations and gestures. For instance, with a quick swipe over a particular tweet you can reply, favorite and retweet. In addition, by going into the side menu you can sort by popularity or time and refresh your feed. The application is $1.99 to purchase for BlackBerry 10. Unolingo by Equazi Enterprises LLC

If you cannot tell by now, I tend to get obsessed over puzzle games. One game that I discovered in the Amazon Appstore is Unolingo. Dubbed as crosswords without clues it is a rather difficult and frustrating game whereby you are presented with a 10x 10 grid without clues and 26 empty squares with which you must precisely place each letter in the alphabet, once and only once. There are four difficulty levels and 160 puzzles to choose from, and it takes time and patience to be able to complete the puzzle. It's fun, frustrating, and at times extremely challenging. No matter what the occasion, be it relaxing or writing a blog post, there has to be music playing in the background. As such, I probably devote an exorbitant amount of time testing various music players on my device. This latest player to hit the storefront captured my attention first by the minimalist glassy design and second by the unique way it allows you to navigate the application. This has to be explained as there is no back button. It utilizes a special swipe to have you return to the previous screens, and that is by swiping up from the bottom frame and going left or right across the display. As a native application, it's fast, responsive, and plays your music flawlessly. It sorts your library by song, album, artist, playlist and folders, as well as letting you select additional options for filtering such as by duration and date added. There are other great features as well including a built-in 5-band equalizer and a tag editor. This beautiful and feature packed player is FREE to download.

This application, by using it's easy to read dashboard-like view, allows users to receive notifications, search tags, filter by post, upload multiple images, and choose which blog to publish to. In addition, it lets you choose a publishing option (Post Now, Save as Draft, Add to Queue, Post Privately) and to select between a bright and dark theme. The interface is easy to use and the animations to select what type blog post to create give users the ability to quickly get their thoughts published. You can find it $1.99 for BlackBerry 10.

Zengrams by Gameblyr, LLC

This week I found this unique puzzle game in the Amazon Appstore. I have to say it is quite challenging. The object of the game is to fill in the box(es) with the pieces given in a limited number of moves. At the bottom of the screen you will see three diamond shapes. These are used to track how many moves remaining to maneuver the pieces on the board. If you tap one of these diamonds you can undo your last move without restarting the level. Basically what you are doing is moving the pieces to fill in a set shape on the board. What is also interesting is that the pieces may come in different colors and sometimes the puzzle involves them overlapping (to form another color) or combining to form one piece that has to be moved as well. There are 70 puzzles included in this game and it involves a bit of thought to solve the various logic puzzles presented. Normally priced at $2.99, Zengrams is on sale for the holidays for $0.99.

Wallpaper++ by Mamdouh Studios

If there one thing I can say, it is that I never get tired of swapping wallpapers on my device. No matter what the occasion there is nothing like livening up the screen by rotating amongst my favorite images. Wallpaper++ comes with over 1,000 images in ten different categories for you to choose from. What sets this apart from similar applications is that they are sized correctly for all BlackBerry 10 devices. All of the images are high quality and it's as easy as tapping on your selection to set the image as your background. This application is $2.99 to purchase for BlackBerry 10.

Swirl by Dirk Songuer

Earlier this year, Foursquare spun off it's application into two parts, Foursquare and Swarm, with the latter taking over the role for all your check-ins. Versions popped up on the iOS, Android, and Windows Phone platforms but not on BlackBerry as we still had the original application to use. One talented developer decided took up the mantle and created his own third party client called Swirl. It allows you to check into venues around you, see where your friends are and their recent check-ins, view user and venue profiles, and contact your friends via all the registered channels. For a limited time you can find it for BlackBerry 10 for only $0.99.

Howdy CrackBerry nation! Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with their friends and family and are getting ready to enjoy the weekend. I cannot believe how fast this year has flown. Not only did we have three new devices launch this year, but we also saw BlackBerry CEO John Chen transform the conversation around BlackBerry in addition to launching a ton of new services and features. Before we get to this week's selection, I just wanted to take a moment to wish you all a Happy and Healthy New Year!

Now it is time to bring you this week's picks for all your passionate BlackBerry addicts out there. You can find each app and game I've rustled up for you by clicking through the gallery below. If your favorite did not make the cut this week, remember you can help by offering your suggestions at the end.

Party 2015 by Themerzz

For those of you still rocking legacy devices, there is nothing better than ringing in the New Year with a brand new theme. This sparkling design features a BlackBerry 10 icon set, a big clock on the home screen, custom indicators for messages and BBM, and a minimalist top banner for easy reading. It is the eye-popping colors and attention to detail that grabs your attention. You can find this lovely design in BlackBerry World for most legacy devices running OS 5 and higher for $0.99.

iTavli by i-smartSolutions

Growing up I have to say my family loved to play board games. One of them just happened to be backgammon. For those of you unfamiliar, it is a game in which two players move their pieces around a board comprised of twenty-four triangular points by throwing a set of dice. The winner is the person who is first to remove all their pieces from the board. While this is an Android Port, it does feature three different types of backgammon games for you to choose from: Portes (backgammon), Plakoto (blockgammon), and Fevga (narde). In addition, you can select playing a computer opponent or with your friends even if they are on other platforms. There are instructions on how to play each game, integration with Facebook, there are virtual coins to bet and to play without ads, option to view statistics, and ability to control the speed of the chip motion and dice animation. The graphics are rather simple but if you enjoy the game it gets the job done. iTavli is $0.99 for all BlackBerry 10 handsets with the exception of the Q10.

Viira for BlackBerry 10 by Karta Mobile Inc.

This next application was a suggestion from a reader. It is a powerful and professional GTD application for BlackBerry devices. Its main purpose is to keep you organized, and I must say it is a robust application with all of the bells and whistles to help you accomplish this. There is a plethora of features included only a few of which can fit into the space here. With Viira you can organize your tasks and emails into projects, tag tasks, create email tasks directly from the hub, associate tasks with reminders, reorder tasks and project by priority, view appointments, backup/restore, and it even sync with Outlook (version 2003-2013 is supported). The only downside is the hefty price tag. Normally $19.99, it is currently on sale for the holidays for $14.99, though there is a free trial version available. To some that is a bit steep but if you follow the GTD method of organizing your day-to-day life, then it certainly is an excellent resource to have for all BlackBerry 10 devices. There is also a version available for legacy devices.

Guess the Gif by Random Logic Games

If you are traveling this holiday weekend and need a quick diversion, this is a fun and entertaining game. The premise is that you are presented with an original drawing that represents a pop culture icon or personality. Using this clue and the letters below, it is up to you to figure out who or what it is. There are over two hundred level to play, and I have to say the images are quite amusing. Coins are used to purchase hints or to solve the puzzle, though these can be earned as you play or bought through the application. It is a cute and charming hangman like game that you can download for free in the Amazon Appstore.

Passport Companion by Tony Cresswell

This application allows users to store and manage their .PKPASS files. What this means is that you can access your boarding passes, coupons, loyalty cards, movie tickets, and other passes on your BlackBerry device. As long as they are in the .PKPASS format you can use your device to collect and use loyalty points in stores such as Starbucks that you created on another device or for ones you created at www.passsource.com. The application is easy to use and offers headless support, customized LED notifications, register for geofenced reminders of when a .pkpass is valid (if you pass a store), and the option to send an alert to your Pebble device. While this version does not support dynamic updates (i.e. Points balance updates, airport gate updates), it is handy to use while on the go. Passport Companion is $2.99 for BlackBerry 10.

Not to be confused with the popular trivia game, this Heads Up is geared towards a different audience. This way if you do happen to be transfixed with a particular conversation on your device, you won't bump into any obstacles in your path. Heads Up is $0.99 for BlackBerry 10.

LaterSend by Baran

Going through our forums, I came across this handy productivity tool. This native application allows users to schedule your SMS, IMAP email (including attachments), and PIN to PIN messages. Speaking from experience, there are times, be it personal or business, where sending a message at a later date and time is necessary. The application itself is easy to use, setup, and attach files. It also includes, in settings, the option to confirm message deletion and "send now." The only downside of using LaterSend is that it is headless which means you need to leave it running as an active frame until the message is sent. However, the developer is considering adding this functionality in future updates. You can find this application for $1.99 for all BlackBerry 10 devices.

DualSMS by KQSoft Inc.

For those of you looking to get more get more out of your screen real estate when it comes to text messages there is this application. It provides you with two basic SMS windows side by side on the same screen. It allows you to adjust the size of each window using the slider bars, adjust the colors, backup SMS messages automatically (in its database), view, search, or delete chat history, export history as a CSV file, and backup/restore to the cloud, device or SD card. Though it was designed for the wide screen of the BlackBerry Passport, it is compatible with all other handsets. What is great about this application is how you can carry on two conversations at once. Whatever message is sent in the application is also copied to the BlackBerry application so you do not have to worry about switching back and forth between the two. However, any messages cleared in DualSMS does not clear them from the BlackBerry one. You can purchase this application for $1.99.

Fans of robot fighting will be sure to get a kick out of this game. The goal is to build your roster of larger than life robots, upgrade them, and then have them battle various opponents in the arena. Book lovers will enjoy how it lets them review what their reading, find new and interesting books based on what you've read, see what your friends are reading and their reviews, join groups based on specific interests and more. Whether you wish to discover something new or keep track of where you are (6% read of A Dance with Dragons!), you can find this application in the Amazon Appstore.

Head Words by Ebscer

If you're a fan of the Heads Up game then you'll be pleased with this native BlackBerry version. Head Words is a multi-player guessing game that is similar to charades whereby after a user selects a category they place their device on their forehead while the other players offer clues for them to guess the word, phrase, etc. The player can tilt the phone down for a correct answer or up to pass. If you are searching for a great party game on your BlackBerry 10 handset then you can grab it for FREE and start playing!

Howdy CrackBerry nation! Hope you all have had a fantastic week. Today may be Friday the 13th but that won't stop us from having some fun now will it? This week we not only saw Amazon and ShopBlackBerry place the BlackBerry Passport on sale for Valentine's Day, but a new BBM Beta. While you are at it, be sure to take advantage of the ShopCrackBerry's Valentine's Day promo and receive 20% off all accessories.

Now on to the more important topic of the day. It is time to bring you this week's picks for all your passionate BlackBerry addicts out there. You can find each app and game I've rustled up for you by clicking through the gallery below. If your favorite did not make the cut this week, remember you can help by offering your suggestions at the end.

Swear By Weather by Francois Lalumiere

For those of you who enjoy a bit of obscenity with their weather forecast, this application is available to download. The purpose of the application is to present users with the current weather conditions along with a few swear words in the process. It is meant to deliver the information in a basic and funny way. If you are easily offended then this application is not meant for you. The developer clearly states in the forums that his application is a continuation of another similar item as the code was open source. As such, you can download it for free for all BlackBerry 10 devices.

Baamboo Player Trial by Luke Soft

As someone who listens to music constantly, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try this player. This full-featured player displays the lyrics while player a song, allows you to browse music by genre, folder, album, and artist, create playlists, add or remove songs, sort your library by various categories, and offers shortcuts for keyboard devices. The application is available in a three-day trial for legacy devices and BlackBerry 10 devices. There is also a premium version for $1.99 available for most BBOS devices as well as the ability to install skins for the player. I do recommend trying to the free trial first as there was an issue on Passport devices for only certain OS versions.

File System by CellNinja

CellNinja is at it again this time with a helpful utility application for anyone who wants to browse files on their system, but not just any files. This native file system navigator gives users the ability to browse their system file folders, thereby granting access to hidden files and folders not available using File Manager. There are several reasons listed as to why a person would need to access those files. For instance, if you want to check the condition of a phone bought secondhand, troubleshoot hardware issues by looking at their state in the file system, obtain a list of applications running in the background, or even because of curiosity. However, the application does not have the ability to modify/create a file so as to prevent issues. File System is $0.99 for BlackBerry 10.

Balance Blox by EntwicklerX

Going through the Amazon Appstore, I discovered an interesting game. The purpose is to drop blocks on the balance. This in turn affects the balance according to the distance from the bottom triangle. By matching three blocks of the same color either vertically or horizontally will clear them from the playing field. The game is over when the balance touches the ground. There are also special blocks available to help you play the game including column and row cleaners. In this game you control where the box falls and where to add a new one. This game involves a lot of concentration and patience and is $1.23 to purchase from the store.

Search for Target by S4BB

This week saw the release of this application that aims to make browsing the Target catalog of products and ordering them easier. In addition to being able to view promotions in the hub (instant notifications of current and upcoming), add items to favorites, option to view best selling lists, and browse by category, the app is also integrated with BlackBerry Assistant / Universal Device Search so that users can find their favorite products right from the home screen. It offers a simple mobile experience and is free to download.

Howdy CrackBerry nation! It is the end of another fine week which not only brings us closer to spring (the Northeast is in a bit of a deep freeze with snow as of late), but the long-awaited rollout of OS 10.3.1 has begun bringing with it a wealth of new features in this version. Not only that but today marks the release of the BlackBerry Classic and the exclusive version of the Passport on AT&T.

Now on to the more important topic of the day. It is time to bring you this week's picks for all your passionate BlackBerry addicts out there. You can find each app and game I've rustled up for you by clicking through the gallery below. Autodesk Pixlr - photo editor by Autodesk Inc.

Shutterbugs can never be without an editing tool, at least from my experience. Autodesk offers an easy to use photo editing and even allows users to enter Instagram challenges. This application comes with a variety of effects, filters, and overlays to apply to images taken by your camera or in your media library. It also lets you crop, rotate, and adjust your photos to create your own collages. For instance, you could enhance the color of your images, remove red-eye, and even fix blemishes. There is a full array of tools to ensure you edit your photos like a pro. The interface is pretty sweet as well and has a certain flow to it when browsing or selecting filters. Certain effects are already stored while others require downloading to function (there is no charge from what I have seen). You can download it from the Amazon Appstore.

Drippple 10 is a port that grants access to this site. It allows you to browse popular, recent, and debuts shots, login to your account, share a shot, view designers profiles and their website, and includes three different themes. You can purchase it in BlackBerry World for $0.99.

Headless Cuckoo by Burning Platform

Don't let the name fool you; this is quite the native chime application. As a headless application, it includes six chime sounds and the option to use any other sound stored on the device or downloaded form the Internet as a chime. There are additional features as well including selecting the interval, number of chimes, sound volume, turn LED on/off, and choosing which days or hours to exclude. In addition, it also has an option to set a chime to go off hourly which is reminiscent of the old cuckoo clocks (as the app name implies). Perfect as a time manager or a reminder, you can grab it for $1.99 for BlackBerry 10.

SoundScape by ReFocus Technologies

If there is something we could all use from time to time, it's a little bit of focus. I'm guilty of it; I spend all day behind a desk at work and then all night blogging about BlackBerry. In terms of writing, I usually keep the radio (yes I'm old fashioned) playing in the background or one of my playlists. Being able to boost my productivity is often a given and listening often helps with this. This week saw the release of ReFocus' latest application, entitled SoundScape. Dubbed as a background noise generator it aims to create a relaxing and calming environment with which to work by playing a collection of soothing sounds. There are over 18 sounds to play and mix, the option to mute, and, as always, a design and interface that is both beautiful and gives a dreamlike experience. My favorite happens to be the piano, let us know your favorite in the comments.
